The most recent running of the ChampionChip on December 27th saw a huge field of 1,523 runners try to cash in on a late Christmas present, with all eyes on the top prize of $56,427 that the winner would walk away with.
After a tough, long day of serious poker action, that winner would finally be decided, with janetrou defeating le_sonssossi for the ChampionChip title and a very nice payday of more than $56,000 in cold, hard cash. While le_sonssossi was undoubtedly disappointed to finish runner-up, collecting $35,882 for his second place finish likely eased much of that pain.
As far as familiar faces, Hamburg 10 (featured in the photo to the left enjoying the Grand Canyon trip at the 2008 WSOP) was the last bwin Team member left standing, finishing in 29th place for $1,447. Below are the top ten finishers, along with their winnings:
