The first week of the daily GSOP events concluded on Thursday, with GSOP Event #7 getting underway, with a format of a $50 + $4 Six Max Pot Limit Omaha rebuy tourney. $75,000 in prize money was up for grabs, with the winner slated to take home more than $14,000 in cash plus an entry to the $5,000 Grand Slam Finals.

The pace was fast and furious, and early leaders included raisy_daisy, KIRKAA, Se7eNk1, and Event #5 winner Zaki81. As the field dwindled, one by one, the action got closer and closer to the final table conclusion. Here's how the final table shaped up, when the field was finally down to the last six players:

Seat 1: keekkeri ($263,975 in chips)
Seat 3: el jago ($1,337,171 in chips)
Seat 6: kesomir ($231,104 in chips)
Seat 7: chawips ($456,168 in chips)
Seat 8: Underworld 1 ($432,762 in chips)
Seat 10: thesegoto_11 ($58,820 in chips)

After many hands of six-handed play, Underworld 1 finally bowed out in 6th ($2,999), followed by thesegoto_11 ($3,018) in 5th, and chawips in 4th ($4,455). Down to three players, here's where they stood:

Seat 1: keekkeri ($315,310 in chips)
Seat 3: el jago ($1,605,427 in chips)
Seat 6: kesomir ($859,263 in chips)

keekkeri would fnish 3rd ($6,468) when his K♦ K♣ 8♠ 5♣ couldn't hold versus el jago's Q♦ Q♣ 5♠ 4♣, with all of the money going in on a flop of 4♥ T♦ 2♣. keekkeri was well ahead but a turn of T♣ and a 8♣ on the river gave el jago the runner-runner flush to knock out keekkeri.

That set up the following match-up when heads-up play began:

Seat 3: el jago ($1,815,737 in chips)
Seat 6: kesomir ($964,263 in chips)

el jago quickly extended his lead and never trailed, finally finishing kesomir off in 2nd ($10,059) when el jago once again came from behind to crack a big pair. Most of the money went in on a flop of 7♥ 5♠ 5♦, with kesomir flipping over the monster A♣ A♥ K♣ K♥, up against el jago's A♠ 6♠ 9♥ 8♣.

The poker gods seemed to be smiling on el jago, as the turn was the 6♣ to give him the straight, and the river a blank in the form of the Q♣, knocking kesomir out in 2nd and giving el jago the victory. He'd take home $14,374 in cash plus a $5,000 entry into the Grand Slam Finals.
