It'd be a long, epic day of poker before a winner was declared, though, with the action running for more than 10 hours before a champion emerged. nuts1970 emerged as the solid leader through much of the final stages, but he'd ultimately come up short at the final table, finishing 7th ($8,009).
hippiebebe spent much of the day among the leaders as well, but just like nuts1970 he couldn't seal the deal in the end, finishing a very respectable 3rd ($32,039). His exit left _COLLO_6 and FokkerTK to battle it out for the win, and FokkerTK finally emerged victorious after more than ten hardfought hours of poker play. He collected $56,070 plus the $5,000 GSOP Grand Slam Finals entry for his winner, with _COLLO_6 taking home a very nice consolation prize of $44,054 for his runner-up finish.
