The WPT has added high roller events at many of its WPT stops in 2010-2011 (with most featuring a buy-in of $20,000 or more) but this will be the first time ever that a WPT event sports a six figure price tag as far as buying-in.
The Super High Roller event is slated to run during the WPT World Championships (which itself costs $25,000 to enter, making it one of the more pricey events on the live event schedule every year), so it should draw a nice turnout with players such as Erik Seidel and Dan Shak already confirming they'll play.
“Hosting a hundred thousand dollar buy-in event within the WPT World Championship series means the world’s elite players have a chance to show their mettle as they battle for one of the year’s most coveted titles and one of the highest buy-in titles, all within a single week,” said Steve Heller, CEO of the WPT.
