Once the cards where in the air it only took an hour for the field to be cut in half with tots993, venomin and Hr.Cooless sitting on the biggest stacks at the half way mark. It would take another four hours for the next 500 players to drop, with the last nine shaping up on the final table like this;
Seat 1: Spanier75 (325,588 in chips)
Seat 2: hdezdelorenz (299,729 in chips)
Seat 3: MAE9690 (206,882 in chips)
Seat 4: Goldensbush (169,216 in chips)
Seat 5: Steko83 (52,015 in chips)
Seat 6: tommi7 (315,0264 in chips)
Seat 7: Mezenga1981 (174,200 in chips)
Seat 8: Puggy82 (295,873 in chips)
Seat 9: joop1387 (75,233 in chips)
A big chunk of the chips at the table were pretty evenly spread between big four stacks, with bwin Team Veteran and bwin Pokerblog video presenter Puggy82 sitting on a very healthy stackof almost 300k. Unfortunately for the ‘Pugster' he wasn't able to repeat his 1st place finish in the October's ChampionChip when he was busted in 8th position ($1,951) after getting it all-in pre-flop with 8♣8♦ and running into MAE9690's J♠J♥.
On an action packed final table it was down to five-handed after only 15 minutes with MAE9690 working himself into a big chip lead with over 600k in chips. Here is how the final five looked;
Seat 1: Spanier75 (386,492 in chips)
Seat 2: hdezdelorenz (303,436in chips)
Seat 3: MAE9690 (601,552 in chips)
Seat 5: Steko83 (159,120 in chips)
Seat 7: Mezenga1981 (29,840 in chips)
MAE9690's joy was short lived however, going from chip leader to busted within just four hands when he firstly doubled up hdezdelorenz and then got eliminated when Spanier75's 5♦5♣ held up against his 6♦A♥ in a all-in, pre-flop race.
Spanier75 then continued to assert his dominance on the final table busting another two players in the next ten hands, firstly knocking out Mezenga1981 with a flopped a set of Kings and then sending Steko83 to the with a turned King-high flush. This set up Spanier75 with a big chip lead going into heads up play against hdezdelorenz:
Seat 1: Spanier75 (1,052,128 in chips)
Seat 2: hdezdelorenz (696,872 in chips)
With the winner looking at a $22,000 pay day, the heads up play tightened up considerable and after 50 hands battle hdezdelorenz had managed to manoeuvre himself into a slight chip lead. However, after another 30 hands of play later Spanier75 had managed to take his chip lead back and was sitting on over 1.3 million in chips when the decisive hand played out.
Looking down on 5♦T♦ Spanier75 called from the SB and hdezdelorenz checked his option on BB. The flop then came 4♣3♣T♣ and hdezdelorenz led out with 120k before Spanier75 doubled it to 240k. hdezdelorenz then pushed his all-in over the top with an extra 88k and Spanier75 made the call. Spanier75 turned over his 5♦T♦ for top pair but hdezdelorenz showed 5♣2♠ to actually be favourite to double up with his flush and open ended straight draws.
A blank Q♠ on the turn put Spanier75 one step closer to the $22,880 first prize and the when a 2♥ dropped on the river Spanier75's pair of Tens was good enough to eliminate hdezdelorenz($14,096) and take down the 22k and the Big Bounty title. Here are the full pay-outs for the top ten place getters;
