Day 1b of the WPT Venice has just come to a close here at the Casino di Venezia and it was another great day for the bwin team. Seven of our players have made it through to Day 2 to join the 31 team members who booked their Day 2 seat yesterday.
CorpseGR finished at the top of the pile for bwin, taking a very healthy 63,450 into tomorrows play. Ilawa also finished strongly to have 49,325 and will be joined by freetcha, dob80, ilawa, LocStaOnFire, Indrich and tamebeast on Day 2.

LocStaOnFire ended the day down a little with 22,475, but it would have been even lower if not for a late double through American Pro Michael Binger. In a preflop raise, re-raise, push, call sequence LocStaOnFire turned over Q♠Q♣ against Binger's 8♥8♣.
The hand got interesting when Binger got an open ended straight draw with a 6♠ 7♣7♦5♣ board, but another 7x on the river gave the pot to LocStaOnFire and boosted his stack up back up to almost 25k.
2009 Aussie Millions veteran King_Dirk busted during that level, Chad Brown again the perpetrator after King_Dirk pushed his short stack from EP with T♣T♠ and Brown called on SB with A♦K♣. A Kx on the flop was enough for Brown took down the pot and ended King_Dirks tournament.

mrbasso333 was also busted during the last level when he ran into an opponent slow playing Kings. With three players to the flop and Q♠9♦5♣ on the board mrbasso333 looked down on his AxQxand led out with 7k into a 10k pot. One player folded, but then the next pushed all in over the top with a big stack. mrbasso333 thought his top pair, top kicker would have to be good and made the call, only for his opponent to turn over K♣K♦ in a nice slow play. Blank, Blank and mrbasso333's day came to a sudden end.
