It was a long and winding road for the finalists in the bwinPokerBlog WSOP Qualifier promotion, but that road finally came to an end on June 8th when final was held.

47 players took to the tables in the final, having won their ticket via the Super Secret Freeroll as well as the weekly $2 tournaments that ran for the last few months.

Some players won their tickets to the final outright by winning a weekly event while others accumulated leaderboard points to put them in the top 16 spots, each of which scooped up a finals ticket as well.

Regardless of how they get to the final, once there their mission was clear: outlast the field and take down the top spot and the $3,600 trip package.

The early pace was a quick one but play slowed down as the final table approached, with the gravity of the situation sinking in for many players. With play finally winding down to the final three, it'd be indrich, Pigmond, and SimiKing who'd still be in the hunt chasing the trip package.

Pigmond had a big chip lead for much of the event but finally fell in third place when he ran into indrich's pocket kings. That elimination gave indrich a better than 2-1 chip advantage going into heads-up play and he never looked back, dispatching SimiKing (who won his way in via the Super Secret Freeroll) fairly quickly, with the final blowing coming when SimiKing tried to steal the blinds with 62o but ran into indrich's pocket sixes.

Congratulations and thanks to all the players who took part in the series and fingers crossed for indrich to put in an amazing result in Event #54!
